Abstract : Information is given on the morphology, distribution, economic importance, detection and control of Aceria mangiferae Sayed (Eriophyes mangiferae), which attacks mango in Florida, resulting in malformed inflorescences, and which appears to be associated (possibly as a vector) with Fusarium spp. that actually cause the malformations. Pruning of infested branches and spraying with oil and dicofol (Kelthane) reduced mite populations and increased fruit yield in Egypt; in that country and in India the malformed inflorescences were a greater economic problem than in Florida.
