Abstract : In a 4-year trial (1975-1979) with mature cv. Dashehari trees, 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 kg K2O was applied per tree each year in 2 equal split doses (October and January). K applications increased leaf K content (except in 1976), reaching a peak with 1.5 kg K. Leaf K was higher in the off year (1978) than in the on years (1977 and 1979). An average of 43% more fruits was obtained in the on years with 1.5 kg K applications compared with the unfertilized controls.
