Abstract : In trials with the cv. Dashehari, grafting on 20 August gave the highest grafting success (90%) compared with 67% in July and 70% in late September. The height of grafting on young seedlings had no appreciable effect on final success. Application of antitranspirants during February and March (dry season) increased grafting success. Softwood grafting was better than veneer grafting.
