Abstract : In 4-year trials with 15-year-old trees, N, P and K (at 1, 2 or 3% solution of each nutrient) were applied to whole trees in September and again in April. Although leaf N, P and K rose with increasing nutrient concentrations the number of fruits produced by trees receiving NPK at 1% was 348 (60.5 kg/tree) compared with 271 (42.3 kg/tree) in trees receiving NPK at 3%. The treatments had no effect on fruit quality.
