Abstract : The nutritional physiology of mango seedlings in full, 50 or 40% sunlight was compared. After 5 months leaves of shaded seedlings weighed less and had a lower soluble proteins to chlorophyll (a + b) ratio, indicating a decrease in photosynthetic rate and net dry matter production, than leaves of seedlings in full sunlight. Levels of nitrogenous compounds were also lower.
