Abstract : This issue contains 10 papers focusing on the medicinal uses of Vaccinium sp., therapeutic effect of some popular Bulgarian medicinal plants and hypoglycaemic effect of Azadirachta indica in human blood cells. The chemical composition of Chenopodium quinoa and C. canihua in relationship with wheat, maize, rice and rye and evaluation of their nutritional aspects in humans and animals, chemical composition of Garcinia tinctoria fruits and fatty acids from the pulps of 4 Tunisian Ziziphus jujuba ecotypes are presented and a method for the extraction of mangiferin from Mangifera indica stem bark and the use of Bauhinia variegata extract as an elicitor of local and systemic resistance in barley against Cochliobolus sativus are highlighted.
