Abstract : This invention relates to an improved integrated process in the recovery of pectin and polyphenolic compositions from mango peels. In this improved process, the pectin containing material is subjected to acid hydrolysis to extract the pectin, separation of the filtrate containing the pectin material by a simple decantation and/or filtration step, and recovery of the pectin material by alcoholic precipitation.
